Magnifico....no other way to describe this Villa ! The hosts make it even better as tour guides, translators and fun people to be with. Nothing is a drama for Frederica and Maurizio. The breakfasts are the best way to start the day whilst overlooking the vineyards into the valley. Followed by a swim and a few cold ones by the pool. We were guests of a wedding and it was perfecto....I still wonder how Frederica managed to put it all together. Marciano is a gem tucked away off the tourist track and I will return there one day, if not for a long time, then at least to play water polo with Maurizio and have a beer with him !

Wir waren 2010 das 3. Mal in Antico Podere Marciano. Von der tollen Landschaft und dem sagenhaften Ausblick haben ja schon viele geschrieben. Aber darüber hinaus ist das Besondere die familiäre Atmosphäre. Federica und Mauricio sind wirkliche Schätze im Umgang mit ihren Gästen. Es ist, wie bei Freunden Urlaub zu machen. Alles ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und alle sind sehr freundlich. Die Frühstücksterasse ist so gestaltet, dass man mit seinem Parner an einem separaten Tisch sitzt, aber doch so, dass man mühelos mit anderen Gästen plaudern kann. Im letzten Jahr haben wir so ein sehr nettes Ehepaar aus Israel kennengelernt. Federica und Mauricio nehmen sich auch gerne Zeit sich mit den Gästen abends zu unterhalten, drängen sich aber niemals auf. Mauricio und auch Federicas Schwägerin Laura sind sehr gute Köche, die je nach Bedarf die Gäste auch gerne bekochen. Im letzten Jahr wurden wir von Mauricio ganz besonders beschenkt. Es war unser letzter Abend - die anderen Gäste waren schon abgereist und die neuen noch nicht angereist. Wir hatten mit Mauricio vereinbart, dass er kocht, wenn ein paar Gäste auch im Hotel essen möchten. Da wir die einzigen Gäste waren, dachten wir, es kommt nicht dazu. Aber Mauricio hat ein wunderschönes, romantisches Abendessen gezaubert - ohne zu wissen, dass wir zufällig an diesem Abend Hochzeitstag hatten. Dicke Umarmung dafür. Wir haben alle Zimmer gesehen und können wirklich alle empfehlen, ob mit oder ohne Terasse. Als Pfälzer fühlen wir uns in der Natur im Chiantigebiet wie zu Hause und auch zum Joggen ist die Gegend sehr gut geeignet. Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Urlaub bei Federica und Mauricio der in ein paar Tagen beginnen wird.

We stayed at Podere Marciano in 2005. The rooms, scenery, and food spoiled us. The other B&B'sin other cities we visited did not compare. We wanted to return some day. This summer in Julyof2009, we got to return for a wedding.Federica was the wedding cordinator. We had the rehearsal dinner on the covered loggia. The food and wine were wonderful and the presentation superb! Italians have a way of helping uptight Americans to relax. I would visit Podere Marciano once a year if we could afford it. Federica and Maurizio are very congenial and helpful in between raising two small boys.

We had two choices, Marciano or some other place, which looked quite nice. We chose Marciano and have not regretted that decision. Been there four times now and have already booked the fifth. Every expectation you have is met and exceeded. You will not find any better hosts than Frederica & Maurizio. The country side, the views, the sunsets stay with you forever.

Hello, I would be glad to fill you in. It was absolutely the best house I could possibly have imagined for our family. The kitchen (we are a bunch of cooks) was fantastic. It really is a restaurant kitchen with every conceivable appliance. I would kill for that kitchen in my house. The bedrooms were very comfortable with each having it's own bathroom and the extra double "powder room" on the ground floor was a bonus. The huge living room and bar area was the focus of our after dinner entertainment. We spent the evening playing board games that my nephew brought down from their house in Germany. And the last few nights we had a roaring fire going as the weather was quite cool and between the fire and the wine we could not have been happier. The views from the house of the surrounding countryside were everything Tuscany is all about. Vineyards in the front and olive trees to the side. Maurizio ( I'm not sure about the spelling) even showed us where to hunt for wild asparagus which we found and cooked with our pasta for dinner. He and Federica were wonderful and as accommodating as they could be. The sunset views from any of the many patios were the subject of about 150 photographs. It was far too cold to use the pool but it looked magnificent. I would - and already have - recommended this house to anyone who is thinking or traveling to Tuscany. There is no doubt I would absolutely stay there again. The owners were wonderful and I think we got along very well. No vacation in a foreign country will ever go without a few mis-steps but this one came as close as I could have hoped. William"

After we stayed at Podere Marciano in 2006 (we came there by incident) we were so impressed by the amazing scenery (the best in the whole area according to many) that we decided to celebrate our wedding there in 2008. We got married in Castellina in Chianti (a 15-min. drive) and Podere Marciano did an amazing job in facilitating the reception, dinner and party for 120 guests at the location. We had a reception at the poolside, dinner at the grass area below the pool and party on the central square, which went on into the small hours of the night. Not only was it a day that we never will forget, but the same goes for many of our guests. Throughout the preparation Podere Marciano was extremely helpful and responsive and we thank Federica and Maurizio a lot for their support and continuously coordinating with us how to make the day a success.
